Who We Are

Our ethos is to always be available for our clients, being friendly and really getting to know their business.

We have seen these businesses, like our own, develop and grow and we are there alongside them, ensuring they are compliant and to answer their questions, provide training, software and always at the end of the phone.
We are extremely proud of our client retention, with many clients now having been with us for years and even decades!
The journey continues, with an ever changing landscape for small businesses, and we try to stay ahead of the curve in order to give our clients the information they need regarding changes and to give them solutions to implement new systems.
We are always keen to either work with or support other independent businesses in the local area.

Helen Chandler has spent her life working for SME businesses, mainly in West Berkshire, but has worked with some in London, Gloucestershire, and South Oxfordshire.
It all began when she started her working life at about eight years old in the family business – Jefferies Bakery in Thatcham.
Helen and her sisters were involved in pretty much everything over the years. From sweeping the bakery floor, packing bread fresh out the oven, sugaring donuts, putting the crosses on hot x buns, working as Saturday girls in the shops, and driving the vans.
Eventually Helen reached the dizzy heights of the bakery office! This is where her love of accounts and bookkeeping began.
“Nothing beats a reconciled bank account in my book”

In the subsequent years Helen continued her work in accounts, running a busy accounts office for a prominent racehorse trainer in Lambourn, and still has connections with this industry with existing clients – trainers, pre-training yards, livery stables.

Whilst working in Lambourn, she was approached by Merrick Francis. He owned Lambourn Racehorse Transport Ltd and was looking for outsourced accounting and payroll help.
LRT hold the Royal Warrant, to transport the late HM The Queens horses and more recently for the current King and Queen. So LRT were HCA’s first client back in 2005 and they remain so today.
We now have over 300 clients made up of individuals and successful progressive businesses.
